The Science Behind
Colorful Forged Carbon Fiber
We don't just manufacture carbon fiber — we reinvent it. At Carbonaurum, we combine advanced forging technology with proprietary color integration to create materials that are as visually stunning as they are structurally superior.
What is Forged Carbon Fiber?
Forged carbon fiber is a next-generation composite material that differs fundamentally from traditional woven carbon fiber.
Instead of using pre-woven fabric sheets, forged carbon fiber is made by compressing chopped carbon fiber strands mixed with resin under high heat and pressure. This process creates a unique, non-directional marbled pattern.
Originally developed for Formula 1 and aerospace applications, forged carbon fiber has now entered luxury goods, automotive styling, and consumer electronics.
Forged Carbon Fiber vs
Traditional Woven Carbon Fiber
| Feature | Traditional Woven CF | Forged Carbon Fiber |
|---|---|---|
| Pattern | Regular grid weave | Random marble texture |
| Directional Strength | Uni / bi-directional | Multi-directional |
| Complex Shape Compatibility | Limited | Excellent |
| Production Speed | Slower | Faster |
| Color Options | Black only, standard | Multiple color effects available |
| Design Uniqueness | Uniform | Each piece is unique |
Carbonaurum's Colorful Forged Carbon Fiber Technology
This is where Carbonaurum stands apart from every other manufacturer in the world.
Traditional forged carbon fiber is black. We changed that. Through years of material research and process development, Carbonaurum has developed a proprietary technology that integrates color directly into the carbon fiber matrix — not as a surface coating, not as paint, but as part of the material itself.
Color Fiber Selection & Blending
We use specially treated colored carbon fiber strands and non-carbon colored reinforcement fibers, blended in precise ratios to achieve consistent, vibrant color distribution throughout the material.
High-Pressure Compression Molding
The blended fiber mixture is placed into precision molds and subjected to controlled high temperature and pressure.
- Complete resin saturation
- Uniform color distribution
- Elimination of voids and weak points
Surface Finishing
After demolding, each panel goes through CNC trimming, progressive sanding, high-gloss resin coating or matte finishing, and final quality inspection under standardized lighting.
The result: a material where color lives inside the structure, not on the surface. It will not fade, peel, or scratch off.
Why Carbonaurum's Technology
is Different
Color That Goes All The Way Through
Cut it, machine it, sand it — the color remains consistent at every depth. This is critical for precision parts where edges and cross-sections are visible.
No Compromise on Strength
Our color integration process does not weaken the material. It maintains high stiffness-to-weight ratio and excellent impact resistance.
Consistent Quality, Every Batch
Every production run is tested for color consistency, void content, surface hardness, and thickness tolerance.
Customizable for Your Application
We work with clients to develop custom color formulations, patterns, and material specifications for OEM projects.
Our Production Process
From raw fiber selection to color blending, compression molding, CNC finishing, and final quality inspection, our process is built for repeatable production quality.
Raw Fiber Selection
Aerospace-grade carbon fiber strands are tested before entering production.
Color Blending
Colored fibers are blended with high-performance epoxy resin systems.
Compression Molding
Material is processed under precise temperature and pressure profiles.
CNC Finishing
Panels and parts are trimmed to exact dimensions using CNC routing.
QC & Shipping
Finished pieces are inspected, packed, and shipped with material documents.
Only high-quality carbon fiber strands are used. Each batch of raw material is tested before production.
Color blending and resin mixing are controlled for consistent material appearance and structural performance.
Steel molds, controlled heat, pressure, and optimized cycle times support stable production.
Every finished piece is inspected visually and dimensionally before packaging and shipment.
